Along with the pleasure of owning a pool there is the constant need for regular maintenance to keep the water fresh and clean.
A specially designed cover, properly installed, will seal off the pool and reduce maintenance costs by protecting chemicals from the effects of sunlight, while keeping out dust, leaves and twigs. The cover also saves water by reducing evaporation by a massive 99.6%
Such a cover is available from "Just Covers". The cover is manufactured from reinforced Vinyl by Walco in South Australia. All seams and hems are welded and in fact become the strongest part of the cover.
Every pool cover is custom-made to ensure a precise fit. It is held in place by locks that are designed to make it difficult for children to remove or lift the cover. The cover will easily support the weight of a number of adults, so will effortlessly support a childs weight. Provided the cover is kept free of excess water, it will provide significant safety benefits.
Installation
"Just Covers" will measure, quote and fit your custom made Vinyl Cover both in Melbourne and the Greater Sydney area.
We have been selling and installing pool covers made from Reinforced Vinyl since 1978. During this time we have gained vast experience in the industry and seen the longevity of the vinyl. Our Vinyl Winter Safety Covers are manufactured exclusively by Walco because they are the best covers available.

Walco Locking System
The securing fittings consist of stainless steel rope clips (A) and a non-corrosive plastic plug (B). The plug is firmly embedded flush into the pool surround. The plug is available in two colours, black and sandstone, in order to match your paving or grout lines.
When the cover is in place, the tension on the securing ropes retains the rope clip in the "locked" position. To unlock, grip the rope clip between thumb and forefinger, give a quarter turn and lift out. To lock when replacing the cover, simply reverse the procedure. With the cover packed away, the plug is flush and unobtrusive, colour matched to your surround.
Exclusive PVC Reinforcing Patch and Eyelet
Walco have designed a PVC reinforcing patch with moulded eyelet. This systgem is strong, non-corrosive and eliminates any liklihood of the eyelet pulling out. The eyelet patch is used on all Walco covers.

Care of your Cover
material is specially formulated for outdoor use. The vinyl is U.V Stabilized and Sanitised. It is mildew and rot resistant. The cover is supplied with a 5 year written guarantee, but with some basic care, a life expectancy in excess of 10 years should be achieved.
Removing the Cover
For ease of removal it is best to use 2 people. If possible, work towards a paved area that is free of obstructions at one end of the pool. Ensure that the cover is free of water and debris, then unlock the clips around the pool.

With one person each side and keeping the cover taut, take a firm grip of the corners and pull the cover about 1.2 metres onto the paved area. The cover will glide quite easily across the water. Now take hold about 1 metre from the pool edge and pleat the cover in a concertina fashion.
Fold the cover in half lengthwise and roll up, starting at the folded end. This will force the air out of the cover and make a neat, portable roll.
Replacing the Cover
Unroll the pleated cover at the working end of the pool and attach the locking clips at the working end only. With one person each side and keeping the cover taut, grasp the free corners and walk lengthwise. The cover will unfurl easily as you go. Attach the remaining clips to complete the task.

Keep the cover free of excess water
Excess water that collects on the cover after rain should be removed. In most installations this can be achieved with a simple syphon.
Proceed as follows:- Place a brick or other heavy object onto the cover to create a depression and tuck the free end of your garden hose under the brick. Connect the hose to a tap (preferably below the pool level) and run the water for long enough to prime the hose. If primed correctly the water should be flowing onto the cover without producing any bubbles. Turn the tap off, pinch the hose and place to drain below the pool level. Note: For a syphon to run, the end of the hose must be below the pool elevation. In installations where this is not possible, a cover pump may be necessary.
The submersable pump (pictured) is weighted so it creates its own depression to collect water. It uses a simple garden hose attachment (hose and fitting not included). The pump is supplied with 10m of electrical cord. Once primed, the unit can also work as an ordinary syphon and the power supply can be turned off.
We will be pleased to explain the water removal method to your site at the time of quotation. We will also provide a demonstration after installation.

Cleaning & Storage
If the surface of the cover becomes soiled with dirt, wash it down with warm soapy water, then hose down. This can be done on your lawn or driveway. If necessary, it can even be done on the pool itself! It is recommended to clean the cover prior to storage
Store your cover safely away from motor mowers and containers holding fuel, oil or chemicals.
Simply keep the cover in a cool, dry place to maximise it's life.
